This is going to maybe be a bit disjointed, because I am sick, feverish, and pissed, but here goes.

I’ve seen a lot of messages telling people not to accept PornHub’s offer of hosting what Tumblr is going to be deleting. The reasons are myriad but can be boiled down to “they don’t cater to women’s porn needs/don’t address issues regarding women in porn.” Etc.

Here’s the thing, though, and this quote so strongly applies right now: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Fandom Erotica and LGBTQAI erotica types and fandom-friendly sex-workers moving into PornHub and setting up shop will bring that change. PornHub’s welcome to these (and all other) groups will create the very thing the complainers say Pornhub doesn’t have: inclusitivy, sex-positive porn, sex-positive erotica, and well-treated people of all genders.

Because that is how you fix a broken system. You get in there, and you create the changes, and you care for those changes like it’s a fragile fucking baby flower that needs your help to flourish, because that flower will grow to become the massive thorny vine that can’t be destroyed by fire, flood, or nukes from orbit. It will be there to stay, grandfathered in, that Pornhub is a place to also seek out safe-space porn.

And this. This would be how it starts. A company inviting disinfranchised tumblr users with no safe place to go to come along and make Pornhub their safe space.

I think that’s amazing. And I don’t think we should pass up this amazing opportunity when it’s been so kindly granted.
